Solitary Thought
June 02, 2006 @ 04:13:50 am

Do you ever think that maybe your life and it's choices don't belong to your conscious
thoughts, but rather are already decided by some subconscious level of your being. That,
maybe, what you want to do, and what you have to do are two different things... and maybe
certain aspects of your being/soul are constantly at war over what will be. I'm constantly torn
by passion and duty. The feeling of being happy, or being selfless. But some inner voice tells
me that the decision is already made, and my conscious self is merely discovering an answer
already found. That my conscious self is the last to know a decision already made in my own
design, and all I have is a trail of bread crumbs and wordless whispers to find this
enlightenment. It's the feeling when everybody knows something you don't, but they won't
tell you, they just stare at you with pitiful eyes while you stumble along the clues.

I know this is truly wierd, but I'll eventually come to my answer. I just felt like maybe sharing
this with those who care to listen.

A quote that always brings me back to this thought is:

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."
- Edmund Burke

Hehe, thanks, I've spend way too mcuh of my time thinking, studying spirituality/philosophy/
religion, and meditating on everything.

Sometimes I think the answer to all my questions, is "Your asking too many questions."

fate or destiny? sometimes i do think that it's a mapped out path we travel but then i think that surely can't be the case, to many paths in life for it too mapped out - what i do think though is that your birth and death are pre-determined but what you do in between is your choice

That's very similiar to my belief involving fate and destiny. I see destiny as the pre-
determined moments of our life that we have no control over, but I believe fate to be the path
in which we get there, fate is decided by us. But I'm also one who's beliefs revolve around
contradiction, as why I just said kind of contradicts that of my journal.

I know just what you mean mate. I often feel as thoug some part of me has made the decision soon after i am given a choice but i conciously take time to try and decide for myself, and similarly i know things and still try to learn them in my concious brain knowing already that some part of me knows the truth but i still prefer to make the effort of trying to work for the answer, or the knowledge, or the feeling.
Of course what i am explaining poorly may have no resemblance to what you meant, but this is how i understood what you wrote
