my sons last day at primary school
July 17, 2009 @ 03:09:25 pm
today was my sons last day at primary school

how fast it has gone it doesnt seem 5 mins since we first dropped him off for nursery. we have seen alot of the kids grow up with him and we were sad to see him leaving , he had a assembley that was focused one all the kids time there as they are the first year to be leaving the school as it was new when they started, seeing them all grown up makes you realise how old you realy are lol, weird though coz i think i will miss alot of the kids that my son grew up with. i helped in the nursery a couple of times so it was nice . oh well we got three left to go yet so im sure ill feel older and older every year now lol, manda says that she feels like he will soon be grown up and left home and she will have lost him but i dont think he will be any hurry to leave home lol, anyway thank you for reading....mike and manda

I think you have to look at it from a different angle when they move up and away. You haven't lost them you have nurtured and loved them to the point that they can stretch their own wings. That should be a moment of pride not of sadness. Believe me, they will always be around when they need something!

Oh, how it all goes by too fast. In the blink of an eye they are in high school, then college/university.

My middle child is going into Gr.1(6yrs old)and I still can't get over the fact that she is not 2 anymore. My oldest starts high school in Sept. Where does the time go??

I know she is sensible and smart, its just the nutters out there scare me so much

i agree it is nice to see them moving onwards and upwards but like you said you do worry about how other kids are going to be with what we still consider to be our babies, hope your little girl is looking forward to new school my son is excited , and he has some of his friends going to the same new school with him, but yes we should give them the space they need to grow further....

My daughter's 14 and my son's 12 and I've got photographs of them both at their first day at infant school. Emma's gone on to her secondary school now and Ollie's got one more year at middle school. Looking at them both now is like looking at time through the wrong end of a telescope. Where did all those years go? It's lovely to see them developing but there's still a part of me that feels like they're growing away from me (natural, I know) and it feels very strange.
