Finally moved into our new apartment. It took us over a week to get things settled in. Although we still dont have our furniture. We had to order it all and now we are waiting. Meanwhile I'm getting used to the comfort of the floor.
I can't wait until everything is set up and I can relax. *sigh*

My husband thinks I'm too controlling. So I'm trying to back off even though I dont think its really true. Now here it is going on 5pm. He said he'd be home at 4. I thought a call wouldnt hurt. So I call his cell and I hear people laughing and a lot of noise like an arcade. He says he's busy and that he's not coming home yet. Hangs up and thats it.
Alright. What now. I need to let it go right? Do I sound too controlling?

Here in Brasil its extremely hard to get out on your own. Which is why my husband and I have been living with his parents these last months. Living with your in-laws is something I would never suggest. Its been really frusterating.
But now that I can work we can finally get out. We already found an apartment. It's perfect really. We were beginning to give up hope on finding one that was bigger than a shoe box, in good condition, in a decent area and within our price range. But this apartment meets all that and it has a huge veranda. So we are very happy with it.
His parents gave us R$5000 to buy a fridge, stove, washer, and living room furniture. Its a basic start but we are content.
We arent really worried about buying top of the line things anyways because we'll be selling it all next year when we leave for the states. What a blessed day that will be.

My sister lost her baby. I wish so badly I could be there for her. It's killing me being so far away now.

Ok, I've been waiting on my Brasilian residency visa which I applied for in November. One of the steps in the process is for a federal police agent to come to the house for a surprise visit. He came today! Which means my visa only has about 2 months left to process!
And, he told me that I could request a working license now. So I can FINALLY start working. I'm so excited.
This whole process is so lengthy and I really was beginning to think it would never end. But I'm halfway there now. And most importantly I can start working which means I won't be bored out of my mind everday at home! YAY!

My little niece Victoria who is 4 is standing next to me going on and on in portuguese and I can't understand a word of it. But she doesn't seem to mind.

Grrr... it's 12:30 and my hubby is still sleeping. It's Saturday!! I need out of this apartment now!

Ug... my sister-in-law is here for lunch. I can tell because she over-articulates her words and I can hear a bunch of "spss, spss, spss" through the door. She's such a stuck up snob.

Not me. LoL. My sister. She met a guy two months ago. Now's she's moved with him to Idaho (1700 miles away from home) and tells me she's pregnant.
And they guy... a moran. I've chatted with him a little and all I can say is I'm completely unimpressed. My poor stupid sister.

My husband gets off work at noon and we are heading to the store for some alcohol and then we're straight off to our hotel! We checked out the suite last night. Its more like a small apartment on the top floor. Lots of room for lots of friends. Gonna be a crazy night! 8)
