poem?
January 06, 2012 @ 07:16:52 pm
let me go now, time has come,
For the starlight to fade into eternity,
Wounded soul, I'm here to fight,
For all the meanings I can't find.
let me go through the thorns of life,
Across the fields of endless futures,
To find where the meanings lie,
To lose the self I've always lost;
There, I see a brand new tomorrow,
A beauty beyond the worlds of mortals,
There, my soul lies, within the fears themselves,
There, will meanings spring from life.
let me go now for a while,
let me sleep an endless night, i will wake before tomorrow, stranger to the selves ive left.

Incidentally I couldn't fall asleep last night and then finally drifted off for three hours straight of non stop nightmares.

This morning I'm feeling a bit better for it.

Nice poem, kid.

Don't let life defeat you - If the path you find yourself on feels tough just show it that you're tougher.

In answer to your titles question: Yes, this is a poem One deep in personal meaning.

It speaks to me of strength, a will undaunted despite its sufferings. Searching past consciousness for a deeper awareness.

"let me go through the thorns of life,
Across the fields of endless futures,
To find where the meanings lie,
To lose the self I've always lost;"

To lose the self I've always lost..., This line, its meaning built upon the preceding 3, it stands out for me and is running round and round in my mind..., almost a forlorn acceptance, a bowing to knowledge of what was..., Its thought provoking for me. I love it.
And then a transition, or rebirth, into the next segment.

"There, I see a brand new tomorrow,
A beauty beyond the worlds of mortals,
There, my soul lies, within the fears themselves,
There, will meanings spring from life."

... beyond the worlds of mortals. The conceived realities of the ego-self? (the ego-self or mind being a transitory effect of the mortal self) It seems to speak that to me. Intriguing phrasing of words for me. I like. And the following 2 lines, a facing of fear to overcome and break through into a new light of being or awareness. A new or wider perspective upon life and its presented realities. This then supported by the ending segment.

"let me go now for a while,
let me sleep an endless night, i will wake before tomorrow, stranger to the selves i've left."

The break of layout pattern is interesting to me. A flare of personal style. I like the way it wraps up the whole.
To meaning; I relate as a meditation of sorts, 'let me sleep an endless night', being in a deep meditation for me is like being in an endless night, time having no substantial meaning, then to wake,'stranger to the selves i've left.' An awakening of a spirit, or self, refreshed by a new perspective, leaving behind that which is worn and haggard from the previously conceive world. The conception of a new awareness facing a new dawning perspective. That's the thought it provokes in me.

In all very thought provoking piece, and that I love. Anything that makes me think and examine my own conceptions and perspectives. Good work here, strong in personal meaning and feeling. I really like it
