Started back at swimming after a long winters absence from the enjoyment of 'taking the water'
I can still swim 10 lengths easily, which is all I do as it gets boring after that. I prefer to swim in the sea, but still too cold for that yet as I am a wimp.
I see guys and girls surfing at Lyall bay (in wet suits of course) and admire their stamina waiting for a decent wave to come in.
Have been out in the garden preparing it for planting veges, as the weather is sunny atm, gonna be growing spuds and spinach this season, oh and the usual tomatoes. | |

Had friends over for dinner and afterwards we played 'Settlers of Catan"
and guess what, I won. Which is a rare event for me. It's a great game I like it better than monopoly, and makes a change from playing computer games. My wife likes to play scrabble but I get frustrated with that game as I never get the big scoring words! | |

The other day we collected a few sea shells, that were left by the high tide. Carried them home in my wife's handbag, big mistake!
A few days later her handbag smells something awful. So next time we take a plastic bag to collect anything from the beach.
The thing to do when arriving home is to put anything collected in to a bucket of water, left outside for a couple of days then leave to weather for a week!
I think one of them must have been still alive or plenty of meat still inside. | |

Got up this morning and had a nose bleed, the last one I had was 8 years ago when I was 18 meters deep in an open sea dive.
Wondering if it's that old injury catching up on me? Anyone know anything about nose bleeds?
Anyhow the suns shining and as Ally said Summer is on its way, and I am still going swimming.

Yes! the trees are in blossom, the birds are singing at 5am, I'm diggin the garden again and the sun is shining at last. This is of course is in the southern hemisphere; (it must be getting colder for you guys up north??) I'm airing my rubber wetsuit ready for boogie boarding.
Isnt it great to have seasons? must be boring not to;( for you guys on the equator and in the far north and south?)

Went out about 10am to drive up the coast, parked at Paraparaumu about 50k from home. Walked for about 30 minutes along the neverending beach, found some nice hardwood-driftwood that will polish up nice, and some good sized seashells. Had lunch (steak and mushroom pie and latte)
then went to see the upgraded Airport where we watched someone getting lessons. Went to Coastlands shopping mall, bought ingredients for lasagne dinner which I cooked and have now eaten and feeling tired, full but happy. But now I remember I have to go out tonight for a meeting. Well its another sunny day, so I did some gardening instead of going on internet,( oh I'm on the internet again now!) oh well.. I gotta watch my usage, only have about 300MB till the 19th then I have to pay extra!

Well it is more or less a sunny day so we went down to Lyall Bay to look at the waves, too cold for swimming so we just had a coffee instead.
But I am getting my half-wetsuit ready for some boogie boarding, honest, I promise myself, or shall I wait till October Labour day? | |
