Public entry Getting Older....
November 11, 2007 @ 01:45:33 pm
According to today's regulators and bureaucrats, those of us who were kids
in the 60's, 70's and early 80's probably shouldn't have survived, because our baby cots were covered with brightly colored lead-based paint which was promptly chewed and licked.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, or latches on doors or
cabinets and it was fine to play with pans. When we rode our bikes, we wore no helmets, just flip-flops and fluorescent 'spokey
dokey's' from cornflakes on our wheels.

As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or airbags and riding in the passenger seat was a treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle and it tasted the same.

We ate chips, bread and butter pudding and drank fizzy pop, but we were never overweight because we were always out playing.

We shared one drink with four friends, from one bottle or can and no-one actually died from this...

We would spend hours building go-carts out of scraps and then went top speed down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes.

After running into stinging nettles a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

We would leave home in the morning and could play all day, as long as we were back before it got dark. No one was able to reach us and no one minded.

We did not have Play stations or X-Boxes, no video games at all. No 99
channels on TV, no videotape movies, no surround sound, no mobile phones, no personal computers, no DVDs, no Internet chatrooms.

We had friends - we went outside and found them. We played with elastics and rounders, and sometimes that ball really hurt! We fell out of trees, got cut, and broke bones but there were no law suits.

We played knock-the-door-run-away and were actually afraid of the owners catching us.

We walked to friends' homes. We also, believe it or not, WALKED
to school; we didn't rely on mummy or daddy to drive us to school, which was just round the corner.

We made up games with sticks and tennis balls. We rode bikes in packs of 7 and wore our coats by only the hood.

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke a law was unheard of...they actually Sided with the law.

This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers and problem
solvers and inventors, ever. The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and
responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all.

For those of you who aren't old enough, you might like to read about
us.

This is surprisingly frightening......and it might put a smile
on your face:

The majority of students in universities today were born in 1986....

The Uptown Girl they know is by Westlife not Billy Joel.

They have never heard of Rick Astley, Bananarama, Nena Cherry or Belinda Carlisle.

For them, there has always been only one Germany and one Vietnam.

AIDS has existed since they were born.
CD's have existed since they were born.

Michael Jackson has always been white.

To them John Travolta has always been round in shape and they can't imagine how this fat guy could be a god of dance.

They believe that Charlie's Angels and Mission Impossible are films from last year.

They can never imagine life before computers.

They'll never have pretended to be the A-Team, the Dukes of Hazard or the Famous Five.

They can't believe a black and white television ever existed.

And they will never understand how we could leave the house without a mobile phone.

Now let's check if we're getting old...

1. You understand what was written above and you smile.

2. You need to sleep more, usually until the afternoon, after a night out.

3. Your friends are getting married/already married

4. You are always surprised to see small children playing comfortably with computers.

5. When you see children with mobile phones, you shake your head.

6. Having read this, you are thinking of forwarding it to some other
friends because you think they will like it too...

Yes, you're Getting old!!

Public entry I wish I was young again...
November 11, 2007 @ 01:32:26 pm
Me & my friend Vixx tried to find as many of these that we could
Anymore suggestions?

I wish I was young again....

When you could run to where your best friend lived and spend all day long pretending to be
She-ra, saving the world from... god knows what? ha..

When you watched TV for fun, not to escape from reality.

When things were pure and innocent, because you didn't know any better.

When a game of marbles "for keeps" was the most exciting thing going on.

When stoppit and tidyup was a programme about plasticine monsters narrated by terry wogan and not a complaint from your parents.

When Cosmo and Dibs were well cool.

Before "friends" was an annoying rhetoric for the american dream.

Before gary wilmot's career was over.

When Timmy Mallet wasn't just a t*** with a hammer.

When you didnt need a mobile phone.

When The Worst Witch and Meg and Mog was our Harry Potter.

When collecting Pog's was the "cool" thing to do.

When yo-yo's entertained us for longer than 2 minutes.

When Weeble's wobbled but didnt fall down.

When Spectrum's where as good as PSP's are now.
(Even when loading a game took 12 minutes! And that was fast!)

When Keeper's where the best thing a girl had to a bank account.

When making up your own words to songs from tv programmes...
"Down in fraggle rock, swing a fraggle by his cock."

When you thought having a boyfriend/girlfriend was disgusting.

When you could remember everything, whether it happened or not.

When 20 seemed ancient.

When the 6 weeks of the summer holidays dragged and seemed to go on for ever.

When playing with toys and talking to yourself wasnt seen as some sort of social disorder.

When Santa, the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny really did exist.

When hate meant fear.

When you could have a different best friend every week.

When you could set up galactic wars between Autobots and Decepticons.

When no matter how hard you tried, you could never beat the Rubik's Cube.

When getting up at 6am of a weekend to watch Snorks, Sharky & George, Captain Caveman, Top Cat, Dungeons & Draggons and The Animaniacs was normal.

When owning Jelly shoes made you cool. (Haha, I remember them well)

When wanting to be a Goonie was what you and all your friends wanted.

When you owned an extensive collection of Cabbage Patch Kids and trolls.

When you could breakdance, or wished you could.

When you would sit by the radio for hours to record your favourite songs onto cassettes.

When Poltergeist actually freaked you out.

When you wanted to have an alien like Alf living in your house.

When you believed that "By the power of Greyskull, you HAD the power"

When partying "like it's 1999" seemed SO far away!!

When Swatch Watches were "in".

When biker shorts underneath a short skirt felt stylish. (haha)

Public entry Deep & Meaningful
November 11, 2007 @ 01:17:16 pm
Currently in the process of asking questions and discovering answers, curious about where my explorations and thoughts will take me, closeness to the development of ideas through self-criticism and analysis...

Seeing what society is really based upon...

Trying to find something worth substance in this dull and often acutely unpleasant existence..

Trying to find realism somewhere in this twisted illusion of visionary fantasy.

I'm just another statistic, a number, just another person trying to be good enough, trying to be perfect in everyway, an addict..

Just trying to find a connection with anyone..

Sometimes in your life you'll have to face times where you feel completely alone..

You're desperate for any kind of affection or attention, you just want someone to care for you, you just want to feel important. Not ever feeling good enough, not ever being happy, never being satisfied, and feeling like you don't matter, like you don't amount to anything. Feeling like this existence, this life is just pointless it's so dull and scarily predictable yet unpredictable..

Predictable in the sense that no matter what nothing will ever be enough, nothings ever going to make it better, yet unpredictable that at any given moment, at any given second anything can happen..

Feeling lost and miserable to the point where you don't know what to do or say anymore..

All your senses turn off and you're completely apathetic and cold. Bitter yet so unbelievably caring.

I just want to live my f***ing life based on what society is based upon.

I don't want to be like everyone else, I won't.

November 07, 2007 @ 07:43:31 pm
I've just recieved some bad news
My best friends 14 year old sister died a few hours ago.
She's been on life support for the past few days but something happened and yeah...
This little girl brought a smile to everyones face, was an excellent student and always did everything for everyone.
I'm heartbroken for my friend and all of her family.
I didnt know what to say to her.
I feel like a really s***ty friend at the moment because there is nothing I can do or say thats going to help =[
Life is so damn unfair

Public entry Bleh :(
October 21, 2007 @ 09:08:07 am
All day yesterday I was feeling sorry for myself because I had a hangover, today i'm perfectly fine think I just needed sleep.
My dad woke me up this morning at 7.30am because he couldnt breathe, he has recently just got over having lung cancer.
He has been rushed into hospital with my mum. So i've got to sit here twiddling my thumbs to wait and see if everythings ok
It really puts things into perspective.
I don't know if anyone else does it but I really take my parents for granted, and its not until something like this happens that you realise exactly how much you love them.
Never rains but it pours lately
