Being "Religious" Doesn't Pay.

A Perspective Account.

You try to follow all the rules "they" lay out for you. You read your Bible. You pray alot. You watch your swearing and even try to avoid Rated R movies. Does all this make things go better for you? Do you feel closer to God? On the otherhand, do things actually become more worse than before? Do you feel more disconnected from your God? I feel like the latter, personally. Ever read the Bible and come across a passage or so of verses where God is audibly talking to a human being like you, and wonder why isn't God talking out-loud now? Where are all the miracles, wonders, angel sightings, and visions, you read so much about in the Bible? Why now in the reality you live in from day to day, these things don't exist? Why is it now that reason dictates you follow another lead instead of the numb wilderness found in the churches of the so-called "Truth"? Am I cursed to live a numb and pointless life or is what "they" have been telling me all along is not "Truth" but a bed of deception bent on ruining my life? My instincts seem to agree. Years of difficult learning warn me to stay in my "box" and not venture out. Afterall, who am I living for? Am I truly living for God or is it for "them". Give me strength ,whoever you are or not, to follow what is right and leave my life of errors behind.

To quote you, partially, and add my own last word:

"Am I truly living for God or is it for 'myself'?

In my belief, the answer lyes in this question..
and also, our life here is a test; for our ear wiil "try" the words of the Bible.
..don't lose faith.

Personal acceptance of ones own place in this world, is all we as humans can ever truely strive for.

Think about it. No matter what your religion is, its still you there participating in it. No matter if your a sinner or the most devout, its still just YOU.

Think of whatever your subscribing to as a helpful guide in the acceptance of yourself.

Knowing right from wrong is not just a matter of religion and faith. Doing the right thing is not always easy. I reckon you can relax and bend a few 'rules' without becoming a 'bad' person.

Kudos to you.

It's your choice whichever path you choose. Personally I'd say keep asking questions, eventually you ask so many they start to become answers.

Good posting.
