| I've been thinking about adopting a cat lately but I don't how to go about that. I tried looking it up but I haven't find anything that's helpful. I know Petco is having an event for adoption but I don't know the fees, what questions they will ask, what should I prepare for at home but mostly how much money it will cost to get a cat | |

Are there "Cat Rescues" like "Dog Rescues"?
I'd avoid any pet stores for pets, unless the event is in conjunction with a local shelter. |

| If you live in the west then remember that the investment is going to be about fifteen years of daily time and attention, watering, feeding, bathing.
Be prepared to have clothes or other personal property chewed up or shredded, dirty carpets, late-night noises.
The commitment goes beyond the "cute and cuddly" stage, kinda like your wife. Eventually, your sense of duty will take over when natural affection wears off.
Or if you aren't from the west then you might get away with tying the cat/dog off in the backyard and eating it. Either way. |

There are also many online "rescue" groups.
Google "cat rescue".
If you are someone like Zsa Zsa Gábor with lots and lots of money, you need to go "big" and buy and expensive animal with "pedigree".
If you are like the rest of us, go to an Animal shelter.
The cat will most likely pick you... go... pay attention... meet the cats... one will stand out and say, "SunflowerVirgo you belong to me!"
It is right... trust it... it is the way it works with cat "owners"...
