I did it, I gave up on my fantasy of a m/c and bought a car I've always wanted, a Twin-cab Ute, 4WD, tinted windows, air-con, multi-range gears, two spares (handy out in the bush),and a stereo that blows your eyeballs out.
Watch out Crocs, here I come!

Now I can be one of those ignorant buggers who clog up the city streets with their 4WD's, except that nearly two-thirds of the traffic here IS 4X4's! It's really just a large country town with a rotating pool of tourists to feed off, if you want to do anything more than go to the movies or a noise place, you NEED a 4WD, the climate and the traffic destroy the roads as fast as the few crews repair them, faster at times!

Depends what you call hard-core! I pushed that Subaru to it's limits once or twice, this pig-cart will go to far better places, sort of "the road only gets you to the START of your trip" places, that's the way to get to the best fishing spots up here if you don't have a boat. Getting there is half the fun, getting back is a bloody relief!

THIS is what I can get from the edge of the water here, and larger,!

Admittedly you have to keep a serious watch out for crocs, and be prepared to MOVE at a moments notice when they appear, because they always do,lol. The fighting fish draws them in from miles away, you catch one and you have to move immediately, that's the way the game is played up here.
Fishing in the NT is NOT a relaxing sport!

WOW! as much as catching fish that large can make people happy, that crocodilio dealio is scary a sheck!!!

It doesn't look safe in normal boats.. it'll just become its play toy!!
