Thought it was time I popped back here to say hi  Ive been really busy with the salon lately, no days off, 70-80 hour weeks  and a shed load of stress to go with it, Ive missed this place.  So how is everyone? | |

| Not been here for a good few months now, been uber busy with the salon and working 70 hour/7 day weeks, the salon is doing much better than I had anticipated but with that come the extra work load, Ive had to take on another room to cope with the volume of work at weekends, I'll try to keep popping back when I can. | |

Up until a few days ago I'd not seen the fish for about two weeks, the pond has been frozen over, it was all I could do to keep the pump from freezing and to ensure a small hole for the inlet pipe to pump oxygenated water into the pond. We are currently having a mild spell, temps have been above freezing for a couple of days and the ice is starting to melt, its only about an inch thick now so shouldnt be too long before its completely thawed. The past few days have enabled me to see how the poor fish have faired during the freeze and the big white fish has not moved for 3 days that I know of, the others are swimming around her but she's still not moving, I will be so crushed if I've lost her, she's my favorite  as soon as the rest of the ice has gone ill be able to assess things a little better, temps went down to minus 18C at times but its been prolonged, we've had this severe weather for some two months now, keep your fingers crossed. | |

Happy birthday to Michael Munchkin, I cant believe how quickly they grow, it seems like only yesterday he was running around the house being his usual naughty self LOL, Hmmmmmmm, maybe it WAS yesterday.  | |

Its ten weeks now until the salon opens, I've bought most of what I need but im still searching for a sign writer for the outside of the building, Ive pretty much got all the staff vacancies covered. I just keep asking myself if Ive made the right decision.  still, its a bit too late to back out now.  | |

My Son passed his driving test last week and picked up his new car yesterday, it was his first time driving on his own and the weather conditions were appalling, well to cut a long story short, he managed to park his new car into a tree Michael is fine but the cars not so fine, half of me feels sorry for the lad, but half of me is cross with him for being so stupid, the last thing I said to him as he left home to collect it was "just take it easy the roads will be bad tonight" why do they NEVER listen to me? 
Ive had traumas with the pond this week, one fish fell sick, then a few days later a second fish fell sick, I tested the water and it looks like the pond has suffered a PH crash, I've spent the past 4 days draining it by 25% and refilling, then you have to add things to combat the chlorine, and Bicarbonate of soda to boost the PH, on top of working full time and the ongoing set up of the new spa, what a nightmare its been this week. Personally I think I more than deserve a nice fat cream cake now.   | |

| Im really torn and im not sure about it, I would be renting the hair and beauty spa from the hotel, the problem is, im a beauty therapist, I know nothing about hair, and im not really sure I want to move into the realms of paye and vat registration and all the nightmares that they bring. Its a thriving little business but there are many obstacles to overcome, am I up to the task, thats the question I need to ask. I have run my own beauty salon before, but this is a whole different angle. do I, dont I? I have butterflies in my tummy right now just thinking about the logistics of it all......... | |
