My world in photos
October 04, 2011 @ 04:19:25 am

Back in the mid 90s I lived in a small upstairs apartment overlooking main street in St.Croix Falls, WI. The building was about 100 years old and the windows were not very air tight. In the winter, frost and ice would build up around the edges of the glass and what you're looking at below is an image taken from one of those windows.

I used a telephoto lens along with a combination of 3 closeup lens attachments. The photo you're looking at is about an 8th of an inch wide.

I named this photo Lake Crystal.

I'll be posting more photos as time goes by.

In the meantime, enjoy.

Wow, that kinda looks like a black n white negative of a pond or lake surrounded by trees.
Neato.

All the images in this journal are of tiny ice crystals (frost) taken from the windows of my old apartment. The one below was taken facing main street. The crystals in this photo are about 1/8 inch high. The red is a reflection of a building across the street. To me, they remind me of robins facing the sunrise.
