Love includes a wide range of emotional and mental states.
Here I would like to narrow the range to ‘interpersonal affection’. And narrow even further to romantic love. i.e. Eros
Love (a stronger form of like) is usually contrasted with hate and (as a less-sexual and more-emotionally intimate form of romantic attachment) love is contrasted with lust.
In general love, refers to an experience one person feels for another. There is the lover and there is the beloved.
So, my question is, what are the negative aspects of love, can excessive love cause harm?

A negative aspect of love is that "love" is not always reciprocated... love can make one blind and obsessive to the point of causing pain to the loved one and/or oneself.
"You" give up the things in your life for the one you "love". "You" give up your own self worth for the one you love... that person is on a pedestal, while you become a slave to an unfulfillable idea.
So says the stalker. |

| In 'Fallout', the last episode of Patrick McGoohan's 'The Prisoner' the Beatles 'All You Need is Love' begins playing as Number 2 descends below the village on his way to be inducted by the Illuminati.
For philosophers and conspiracy theorists of the sixties that phrase, for some reason, meant a lot.
It wasn't until my later years that I believe I connected the dots
The phrase doesn't mean that we all we need is someone to love us but rather our damnation is such that there is not much in our existence which we, ourselves, can love thus the full phrase would be "All you need is something or someone to love but ha ha go f*** yourself." |

Well, there was that one time ... but I swear it was an accident. I couldn't hear while wearing that damn rooster head! |
