The Iron cross was added when they renamed her Victoria and had her looking at the French Embassy... I don't know which direction is East... but it's her left, and she is watching the French... on the opposite side... her right, across from the French Embassy, is the imfamous

Hotel Adlon, better know as the scene of...

Nothing! The word I used was "might". There is a figure of Victory (Victoria) on top of the Victory Tower, and the figure in the Quadriga, carrying the Iron Cross atop the Brandenburger Tor, is also that of Victory, a.k.a. Victoria...... My only point was that there are two Victorias, and if the face was turned 'to the left' it would have to face 'slightly north.' The 'new' French Embassy is on the east side of the Gate, and to the north.

When the bronze figures were restored, around 1990, it was to re-install the Iron Cross....

In any event, the Schuldheiss must have been good, there.

Nope... that's what the tour guide told me, therefore i must believe it as 100% truth... He was a university student from Amsterdam, what's not to believe??

You might have your picture associated with the 'wrong' memory...

There is a Victory-Tower [die Siegess?ule], opposite the Brandenburg Gate, with a golden statue of Victory on top.

Why not?

Tour guide told me a cool story about this, her name used to be Irene or something like that, they changed it to Victoria, who is looking over Parisplatz, and they actually remolded her head, so it's looking slightly to the left, directly at the french embassy.

But then again it was just a tour guide....

I can recall seeing the molds for the bronze castings of those horses, in a storage building in the Julius Turm compound, in Spandau, Berlin, many years ago. Why are you displaying this, here?
