Drinking a couple of glasses of wine. Got an interview at the end of the week in a new city, a new country. I really hope it goes well, if it does then I will be living in England.

If it doesn't then I'll still be up here in the frozen north, in Scotland. Hope it goes well.

Finally landed my big girl job!

I graduated from college in May with my degree in Secondary Level Mathematics and I have been a substitute teacher for the first half of this school year. Three weeks ago I got offered a job at a high school working full time teaching Algebra 1, Statistics, and Trigonometry. I absolutely love the district and the people I work with. Keeping my fingers crossed that I can keep this job next year. They are not sure because they have massive budgeting issues within the district right now.

Dwindling Internet Usage

Having returned to TFS after another lengthy time away I had a look at some of the posts I had made when I was a prolific poster it made me think about my changing (or changed) usage of the Internet. In fact in the usage of a PC.

I bought my first PC when I was 11, I've used one most days since then. However in the last year or two my own usage has dwindled quite considerably.

I used to spend hours on my PC, I used to be uploading videos, downloading movies. I used to Admin at the world's largest Torrent site. I used to moderate forums. Once that ended I would usually be gaming online and I still would be doing the odd download.

But as I say in the last year or two I can do what I need to do on the PC in around 20 mins and I hardly feel the need to boot up anymore.

Maybe I'm just burnt out with the techy stuff.

English folk, how wondrous you truly are. You get to be English, to be English is great, I need not tell you that.

Not only, though, do you get to be English. You are also British. That means you can have all that is Scottish, and it is yours. Bagpipes, the Highlands, Irn Bru, Haggis and Rabbie Burns, they are as much yours as they are ours. How wonderful!

As part of the UK, you get to be British, you've got London and Red Pillerboxes. But you also have Scotland, Wales, Norn Ireland. You are English, you are British. We are British.

Long live the Union!

Ticking the Box

In becoming a teacher in Scotland I am guaranteed at least one year of fully paid work at a school. I can do that in my local area, or I can tick the box!

If I tick the box I could be sent anywhere in Scotland, without me being able to protest or back out of it, however I get an extra £8,000 P/A for ticking it.

The question is, should I tick the box?

Student Teaching!

I know that I haven't posted anything on here in ages and i only get on every now and then to talk to a few friends that I met on here. However, I am SO excited that I just have to share this with everyone! I student teach next semester and after that I will finish my degree (FINALLY!) and today I got my placement for student teaching which means I will now get to start planning.
