This might be a little off-topic, but can the members here from America explain WHY there is something called a jury in a court of law? I mean, regular citizens cannot make a clear decision on something like this, it's received massive media exposure even here in Sweden which is on the other side of the world.

Why do you not let the law stay in the hands of people who know it well and has spent their life learning it? What purpose does a civilian jury serve in a court of law?

The only thing worse than a jury of emotive useful idiots, is the judgements being decided by demagogic politicians. Too many of our judges are corrupt already. Much of our law is being decided by one man in 5-4 Supreme Court Decisions. Socialism has brought us to this brink precisely because we are (or were) the most powerful and economically successful country in the world--and too tempting a plumb.

Well since i'm not on the jury, and he has not been charged as of yet, and we are not in courtroom trying his case, I would have to say "NO", I haven't "found him guilty" or innocent. Besides, we haven't heard all the facts....yes I called him a "murderer" because IMO that's what I call someone who takes a human life. No matter the reason. And your point is?

So now your calling every single women who has had an abortion a murderer hum..interesting

Thank you Leon.

No problem. I thought it was silly enough to have two threads on roughly the same exact topic on the front page.

Interesting indeed, but that's my stance and I stand behind my statements, because they are my beliefs. Weather you agree or not!

And your point is what? Murder doesn't necessarily make one a bad person, taking in account on the circumstances the murder was committed. I stand my statements!

I'm having trouble coming up with a situation where someone is both a murderer and a good person.

But is it a judgement at the whole U.S.; we have the opportunity like the infamous trial of Peterson in 2002? The judgement then was: is America sexually wicked too much in a public way? Now it is; can wicked 'imperialism' of the U.S. be consented as evolved to being canceled by 'systemic' racist concerns?

Are people really trying to be jurors of this case with no evidence in hand?

All we know is what we're being fed and that's it. May be facts mixed with embellishment or nothing near what the 'truth' is behind all this.

I find it quite amusing that there are so many people that can't wait to crucify or exonerate a person based solely on what we know nothing about nor the situation except for the media which spews out and at best not telling the truth as they don't even have it.

I'd hate to have a jury made up of some of the comments made from assumption only yet deem themselves to know exactly what happened when in fact know nothing at all. Scary world we live in isn't it?

Review the thread starting with the Obama/DoJ dismissal of the charges against the NBPP in Philadelphia for voter intimidation. Yeah yeah I know, blacks didn't have the vote for 200 years so that excuses it. My wrong trumps your wrong all year long. And so it goes.

You still chasing that Bigfoot?

I don't remember Bush being given quite the same level of credit as a master mind as people give Obama.

I think some of Bush's cronies (Cheney, LIby, etc) were given more credit than Bush was. There were some very specific things that Bush was absolutely involved in (Patriot Act, Warrantless Wire taps, etc) that Bush was given credit for. However, some people liked those things, others didn't.

But claiming that Obama orchestrated a local event like the Zimmerman-Travon Martin thing... I do not remember Bush ever being given that level of credit.

In fact, many people thought Bush was closer to being a dummy than a mastermind of all things bad. Obama really is viewed by the conservatives as a super human super genius.

Well there's 9/11. I realize most don't believe he's responsible, but most don't believe Obama is responsible for this case either.

Because it's supposed to give commoners (or whatever you'd call us) a fair trial, instead of people who've traditionally been aristocrats (or, the closest thing we have to that) favoring other aristocrats. I thought all of Western Europe had juries though. Are we the only ones that do?

No, i'm not.....because of the way and reasons I described in a post some pages back. Let's say I shot a woman who was trying to stab me with a sharp knife, she died after I shot her.....IMO, I murderer her, but i'am a good person.....at least I believe I am.
