i know its not all young people, most are decent, but what makes some kids react like this? is it down to their upbringing, failed family structure,?

As of late, it seems that a lot of parents are just giving up on their kids, and caving into their children's wants. Although I certainly disagree with what these kids were engaging in, I don't really blame them for thinking that they can get away with murder. I think it's because lately, media is so pushed on kids, and often times, teachers in school will push their values and opinions on kids in modern day society.
Many parents blame the media, because they refuse to take responsibility for their children. Who would have thought that having a child would mean being bombarded with this much responsibility? But it's the parents who need to keep their kids away from this media, if that's their argument in the first place.

Bad parenting, violent images in the media and games, peer pressure. . . .those are just three reasons I can think of for why some kids do such sick, sadistic things. However, on the other hand, I think I'd get them all psychologically evaluated, cos even if you haven't been told it's wrong to torture puppies, how could ANY sane person think it's right or fun?!

Those puppies are so cute! I wish I lived in Halifax so I could adopt them.

It's not something that's 'happening' its something thats always been as far as i can tell.
There's some sick people out there and they hurt animals, sometimes people, and it usually starts at that age.

I agree with you entirely. Some of the games available for xbox and Playstation are horrible and definitely influential. As for getting their brains counted, there must be something very badly wrong psychologically, with anybody, of any age, who can indulge in such sadistic activities.

I can understand your view, but I don't think it's fair to blame the gaming systems. It's pretty sad, but I play Halo 3 a lot, a rated M game, and I often get matched up with really young kids in these games. I think the blame should go to the parents for either not doing their homework about the game, or just failing recognize these games as something that isn't meant for young kids. What's even more sad is that some parents will just buy the game for the kid, knowing what it's about, because they're sick of hearing their kid complain.

although in society both the young and the old can show no respect to anyone or anything youth under a certain age think they have no boundaries they think the police wont arrest them parents don't care so there free to run wild
this country lacks discipline towards our children
in my opinion
