It's a constitutional thing why america does not have queens or kings.
and the whole independence war thing we fought to get away from that too.

america's never had a king or queen since our revolution. we're a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. that's our identity. it's how we came to be.

the whole point of our revolution is that we didn't want to be ruled by a king from thousands of miles away. and no king, for that matter...

well america was started to get away from kings and queens.

i think its a redundant tradition to be honest, but england seems to have a lot of national pride in the royal family for some reason.

i don't think any person should have any birthright to power, that should only be given to who the people judge appropriate.
of course the british royal family have little actual power but in other countries its not always like that.

America Doesent Need A king Or Queen We Have A president, also i dont want a slobby rich dude that orders most of the government. I'd rather have a preseident that has restrictions

mostly its their own money,
but some of them get paid from taxes too and their expensive security also, but this is part of her duties as technical 'head of state', though she has little political power they still wheel the queen around to meet world leaders and what not.
so you could argue she's paid for this.

still seems a steep price to me.

No we don't! At least, no one I know does. We all want to get rid of the monarchy. Obviously, not through open rebellion . . . .
