i have been thinking about this for ages..my friends always talk bout music and i asked them what was ska and all they told me is its like no doubts music..and im like that really helps..but whoever i ask they give me that same answer . " no doubt music" ..yeah but i wanna know wat it really is ..so i can get into it

Dictionaries definition: "Popular music originating from Jamaica in the late 1960's, having elements of rhythm and blues, jazz and calypso, and marked by a fast tempo and strongly accented offbeat."

But seriously No Doubt would be the last band I'd think of to describe it. Bands that immeadiately come to mind for me would be The Specials and The Selecter. Check them out!!!

hahah no doubt, maybe like a couple of there songs but now gwen thinks shes some kinda gangster...lol. But i def wouldnt compare them to ska.

probably the easiest way to describe it to give you an idea would be.... the music you get when you mix punk and reggae... you get the fast tempo of punk rock, to go along with the jazz elements of reggae

ska is a form of dance music that was popular in the 1960s in jamaica. its characterized by the use of saxophones and brass. its heavily accented offbeat and its influenced by new orleans rhythm of blues, calypso, and jazz.

ska is awesome!
