2. normal blood pressure
3. not have diabetes

69% of people suffering their first heart attack and 74% of stroke victims have high blood pressure.

it more often affects overweight and older adults and accounts for approximately 90% of people under diabetes.

part 3: a case study in bogalusa, louisana

part 1:

in 1972, cindy roach and 93% of bogalusa children become part of the bogalusa hearth study funded by national institutes of health ( NIH ).

the bogalusa heart study, created by cardiologist gerald berenson, is historic for discovery that heart disease begin in childhood.

gerald berenson, MD, found of the bogulsa health study, tulsa university school of medicine.

the bogalusa heart study was designed to all aspects of childhood health, including weight as future predictors of adult heart of disease.

the bogalusa heart study was the first study in the world to autopsy children who died from accidental and non-cardiac causes in search of evidences of heart diseases.

20% of authopsied children had plaques ( fat deposits ) in their coronary arteries. those children to have high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

these autopsies were the first scientific evidence that plaques involved in heart disease can exist in children.

now in its 40 year, the bogalusa heart study grew to follow more than 16,000 children into adulthood.

dr. berenson's study showed that obese children reach adulthood they are 8 times more like to develop high blood pressure than healthy weight children.
