what about the iPod? I have one and compared to my friend's Creative Zen it
seems like it's much better quality. Plus the sound rocks.

I modded the firmware to my zen and it now plays .mp3, .wav, .ogg, and .aac

wheras ipod can only play .mp3 and .aac last I saw

You obviously do from what you've said, but I've never heard of somone
swithcing from mac to windows unless it's required for their job or someting.

I've only heard of switching to mac if it's for a job

but I still prefer other OSes as I prefer my Radeon 9600XT not be used on eye candy for the desktop, but graphic intensive applications

actually, I'm pretty shure iPods can play other types of files than that now. Especially since
the new color ones. I know their going to port music videos to them soon, but I don't know
what type of file that will use.

Plus, I know if you mod an ipod you can get it to play more types of files.

i mean really the ipod has set the standard for digital music players world
wide and the weak try hard players that do all this fancy schmantz stuff are
really only a attempt to try and capture some of the market share apple has.

all i can say is that ipods are a much better system and once they have the
movie ipods( if they bring them out, as its only a romur so far) they will be at
the leading edge of portable media devices

Macs kick pc ass...true they crash alot but there is no comparison when it comes to creating large files for artwork purposes...pc's are great for gaming and the web but not to run a business. I used to run a G4 with dual 1ghz processors, over a gig in ram and it was a pure beast at the time...lost my privileges when I decided to quit my job and have had nightmares and withdrawal ever since...as soon as I can afford another one this pc is gonna meet my baseball bat

They crash a lot? what are you running? I've never had problems with crashing with OS X.

This was when they launched osx a couple years back...definitely had it's share of bugs...had to do alot of switching back and forth between classic and osx because alot of the programs at the time didn't support osx...they now have most of those issues taken care of as osx support now is the standard.

The secret to keeping a healthy PC is *REALLY* knowing how to use and maintain it. Even Macs crash if you neglect them, but they don't seem to as often.

nah, I'm not much of a gamer, I need the power for autoCAD, thus why the media center one has a 9800XT now, and the workstation with an ATI FireGL. the media one can handle autoCAD and all, but the FireGL just makes a huge diffrence. abd on flashy desktops I find it hard to fnd things, so in UNIX I'm more for OpenSolaris
