stock amplifier

does anybody know where the stock amplifier is located on a 2002 chevy cavalier, 2.2L ecotec vin"F"???????????

If your talking about the amp for the stero its only like 35w so its built into stereo head unit.

is it really built into the stock radio? because when i hook an aftermarket head unit, i still get sound out of both pairs of wires for each back speaker. (each rear speaker has 4 wires for a dual voice coil 6x9)

I'm guessing your new aftermarket head unit has a amp built into it also.

it does. but it doesn't seem to want to work. its almost like they are canceling each other out. i know the car came with a stock amp, but i'll be damned if i know where it is, how its hooked up, or if it really was apart of the stock head unit. i've tried to trace the harness to the back of the car, but all can seem to see, is the wiring, and no amp. can you understand my frustration?

Yes did you put in a new wiring harness? The stock Head unit and the Aftermarket one are not interchangable most of the time without putting in a new wiring harness.
