people talking in a supposedly quiet room

why must people talk in a room that is a designated quiet room!

in im uni trying to do work and all i hear is yak yak yak

It's a bit like a library - I remember years ago all you heard was "SHHH!"

Now all I ever hear is yak yak yak, from the staff or the people in it, or their screaming weans on scooters and roller blades.

So I sympathise with you - so bloody annoying

its not as if there isnt a group study area they could go to if they wanted to talk, but no, they stay where it is supposed to be quiet.

its not so bad now the ppl on the computer next to me have left ao the only noise is the printer which is kinda hard to justify complaining about.

The library at my college was always really noisy so I never used to go in there. Even now at uni I would much prefer working in my room as it eliminates the chance of distractions from other people.

Bring a wiffle bat with you from now on and bop them on the head.

For me, I can't work or study(been many moons since I've studied) with it being quiet. I need noise.

i dont mind music being played but i forgot to bring my headphones today.

what i really hate tho is whispering - so u know they r talking and trying to be quiet but u can hear them all the more.

i guess im jst annoyed coz its a really important piece of coursework im doing at the moment

I have the same complaint about people who talk during movies or in pretty much any other place where they're supposed to stfu. I've always wanted to be that person who speaks up and says Hey, would you mind shutting the hell up? Of course, it goes without saying that in today's ego-bloated society, no one would actually shut up and instead it would only make the situation worse but, oh well, might make me feel better.

I had an experience like that not long ago...two people having a conversation, in a language I didn't understand, in the pew in back of me during my best friend's eulogy! Pissed me off, no end!
They were so loud, I couldn't hear the preacher!
No respect for the people around them at all!

Dude, the only thing that really annoys me is when people are talking during a movie. I mean, don't get me wrong, I do it sometimes, too. But only to explain what's going on to a friend, and since she can barely hear me and has excellent hearing, I know other people can't. Now, if you're being funny if the movie ain't working or something, that's okay. My friends and I used to do that s*** all the time. We actually got up in front of some people in the theater and told jokes until the movie started.

grr there are only 3 ppl in the room, me and two guys yet they find the need to talk VERY loudly to each other. now iv got music on to drown them out but i cant still hear them which is an indication of their volume!!

Grrrrrr. Call someone and start talking loudly about famous mass murders

lol i jst turned up my music to very loud tinitus inducing vibrations (glee madona lol)

Some people just have no manners. I hate being in class and having people carrying on there own discussion while the teacher is talking - very rude and disruptive..

Look right at them and yell shut up!!!

glee is drowning them out at the moment, but if i had forgotten my mp3 i would seriously not be happy. i was considering going all hulk on them earlier but calmed down with the help of music
