dose anyone here use linux instead of windows? i had a go on a linux run computer at my mates place and its so f***ing confusing lol. but then again u can do heaps more stuf with it.

i used linux once and it seemed really, really, slow. maybe it was just the computer i was using, but i didn't like it at all. i know allot of people who love it tho, and would use it over windows anyday!

right now I have SuSE , Mandrake, Fedora, Slackware, Yellow Tail, and Debian other then that there's BSD and windows 2000/XP all on this system, large hard drives are cool for that
and then there's knoppix, but that doesn't install to HDD

on my old laptop I have a dual boot with SuSE Linux and Windows. I mostly don't use the linux though.

I knew it must have run off some sort of unix, as windows requires too much power for itself

format your HDD, make 2 partitions, install a OS to each Partition (Windows on one, a linux distro on the other) and when you boot, you will be prompted to choose a OS

Yeah I switched to linux for like 2 years, however I missed games and at the
time the gfx drivers for nvidia were still ropey. Its a great OS if you like to
tinker about.
