Hi, so my question would be- stained glass or no stained glass?
a bit of colour never harmed anyone so why not stick some plastic
coloured patterns or pics on them? could be biblical or not
its just to give me the feel of being somewhere special
with coloured light shining through.

what do you think?

Lol, hotter than you may think, because as with so many things it is not the act, but the motivation that matters most.

Some see stained glass in churches as a form of idolatry.

Do what you want. I've got a stained glass window at home, my parents did it. 'Tis pretty.

In a non religious context why not, it can look beautiful, and after all, beauty is in the eye of teh beholder. As with all thigns there is nothing wrong with the use, merely the misuse.

To be fair unless you're stabbing someone with it, you can't really misuse a stained glass window. It's just decorated glass. Mine is just a random pattern that my parents thought of when they were going through a sporadic DIY phase.

I do like the stained glass windows of Bristol cathedral though, just as well considering the amount of time I spent looking at them from the choirstalls.

Snake, are you turning your room into a cathedral or Castlevania?

I guess either way it wouldn't matter.

I love stained glass windows, my mum has a stunning round one which is an original feature of her Victorian house. her neighbour also has the original front door with stained glass too. Gorgeous!

You must've missed it the first time he said it.

In a religious setting, if people start worshiping the stained glass...basically using it as an idol...that would be a 'misuse'.

i wouldn't worship the stained glass just want to bring a bit of colour in to my room with a nice design, i'd be worshipping
with my shrine though that i'm going to make i've got the
perfect place for it with a mirror behind it and a light above
it's going to look great and candles etc i guess my room will
look like a church of some sort haha except i want to paint my
walls bright yellow. thanks.
