is it good to have goals? "dreams"

Is it good to have goals or to dream of becoming this or that?? I mean in school (at least here) they thought us that its Great to have goals! to have something guide you to your future you know??

Just Now i got into an argument with my mom and sisters because they think that i shouldnt say " i wanna go to college/ im going to college" They say i dont know..i dont know the future i shouldnt say anything. Although im working hard as in applying to scholarships etc. THEY say im wrong. i shouldnt do that UNTIL its a fact im going to college.

I was SOoO PISSED OFF!

It actually hurts when your mother tells you "your not going to college, your not going to become a nurse."

I love my mom i never thought she would say something like that...

that's really unusual advice from your parents.
maybe what shes trying to say is that it's
very hard to know for certain
what you want to do with your life when you're so young,
most people reconsider.
in saying that, nursing is a goal to be really proud of,
to be absolutly sure of what you want to do with your life is a rare and special insight most people don't reach so young,
(i don't know what i want to do with my weekends, let alone my life)
i'm sure your mother's just looking out for you,
if you're sure, then i say don't be held back and go for it.

I think it is good to have goals and dreams , even if we dont' reach them. If we don't have aspirations we'll sure never reach any .

I have always taught my girls to set their sights on what they want and then go for it. I am a goal setter myself I always have been . I feel like I have to have a goal to meet to be productive and then when I reach that goal I want to surpass it.

Hang in there and don't let your family discourage you too much.

my goal has always been to make it as an actor,ive had opportunities but never made the most of them,i try not to look to far ahead,as its never a good thing to do
