iPod Touch into an iPhone

A good friend of mine discovered a little trick to turning it into an iPhone and making calls on it. We were going to do it, but we wanted to find out if it was legal first LOL!!! Anyone know whether or not it is?

I also find myself doubtful it can be turned into an iPhone to start with. Surely it doesn't have a microphone?

ive heard of ways of making it into a voip phone, via downloadable software and a aftermarket mic.

Yeah, you can hack it to VOIP with an external mike.

It can't be an iPhone for several reasons, though. For one, it simply lacks the hardware that would be required to use a cellular phone network.

iPhone aren't phones. They're MP3 playing computers that you can text with, surf online, play games and download a bunch of expensive apps that you think you'd never need, but you get them anyways. Oh, and you can make calls on them.

Why am I hating on the iPhone, do you ask? Because... of my big hands... and the keypad's so small.

My mates got an iPhone, cost him like ?350 or something crazy like that.

Who has that amount of money to spend on a phone? Mine cost me ?80 two years ago and still works fine.

Indeed, I'm going to blame him for the credit crunch! Spending when he shouldn't be, terrible...

Did he buy it on credit?

Probably, he pays about twice what I do on rent, goes out all the time and hasn't had a job as long as I've known him.

I hope they make iPhones for people whose hands are larger than a Japanese school girls' hands.

That would be called the HTC Touch HD. Which, incidentally, has more features.

Hell, my Touch Diamond HD has a better screen and more features than the iPhone 3G.

But if you accidentally drop it, does it shatter like an emo child's hopes and dreams when their girlfriend dumps them?
