Has anybody heard of this? Apparently there is a group of people who are working on putting
Linux onto iPods. They've already done it for some of the older versions, and I can't wait until
they finish for the fourth generation. Too bad I have no clue how linux works. All I
know is you can do so much more with it than other operating systems.

Check out the site. It's pretty cool, especially if you have a nerdy leaning, like me.

too bad an Ipod would be near useless as a computer, although maybe the ones able to process video MIGHT provide some good extra uses

and I'm not much for linux, too many installer types, and you have the problem of asking yourself "Now did I instal that program to /bin, /usr/bin, /home/bin, /root/sbin, or /usr/home?". OpenSolaris for me

I'd like to add that the interface was beautiful. Better than I had expected.

I'm not a linux wiz, but apparantly you can do quite a bit with with the iPod's
processor. You can actually run doom on the G4's. Not that that's much of a
feat, but I thought it was impressive for the fact that they were never ment to
run video.

I think they run at 75 Mhz, but it's all on the site.

wow, only 80 of em and if there were some way to magically combine them I'd have enough power to run AutoCAD

I keep windows on the weaker systems, unix for the workstation
