homework question

hi, my daughter is doing her homework beu there's a question which we're not sure about: x(x+24)? It's something to do with trial and improvment.

You're missing part of the equation. Where's the = ?

if x = 2, then it would read 2(2+24) = 2*26 = 52

Did that make sense?

it wouldnt be a two u still keep the x its just s squared then use basic algebra to finish it

I wasn't sure what her question was. So I was presenting it as an algebra problem...

If x = 2 then, solve x(x+24).

u cant just substitute 2 that doesnt make sense u have to have x squared
