tv reality shows maybe once, could be saviors to primetime channels. not now, like nbc using " the voice " to save their ratings, or drama and comedy tv shows on nbc not as good as they were 30 years ago.

when a network depend on reality shows than anything, what has happen to the quality and entertainment of a network use have?

Now it seems they're all migrating to News / Infotainment ... i.e Good Morning America / Today Show formats ... along with local stations filling the hours with the same...

i think the idea, in 50's and 60's, with today show is ( i think ) the longest running daytime in primetime national wide magazine tv show still on the air. in 50's and 60's, they had child tv shows like howdy doo and captain kangeroo, give help the parents get kids ready to school. in the last 30 years, local news are longer on tv news daytime shows. without daytime child and national tv shows in early morning. the local channel had to fill the gaps by their local news and tv shows that they made up. all primetime channels in daytime still national tv shows. but local news tv shows has more air time than 50's and 60's. in st. louis from 4:00 to 9:00 am, all local channels are mix with local and national news.

i know my mom appreciate that tv, when me and my siblings were kids. tv was a buffer for her, that kept us brother her all time. tv is refer as a babysitter. i think in some way as a child, it is good for them. and the parent know, where the child , when they are watching tv.

do have a good point with movies.

back in 50's to 80's, disney movies were more motion pictures for children. some of them were for adults more family orientation movies for a whole family.

something is more different disney has done these days, than i was growing up is more animation movies that are brilliant. many ways, are more affect for kids than any family disney movies, when i growing up.

in the 80's, disney movies were hurting, not watching them like a disney movies. " finding nemo " brought back disney from the dead literally. since then, disney is the best source of movies for kids and family.

no, i never thought about it. for 5 to 15 minutes in animation movie take over 1000 hand made drawings to it. it does make sense , they would use it.

interesting in these marvel super heroes movies like the first iron man movie. in the first iron man comic , tony was in vietnam , which where iron man was born. in the movie version, it was in desert storm.

marvel has only update how the super hero become the hero. like in iron man. through they expanded the 60's storyline and when to finished the end storyline of the movie. it was comic book version came out in 90's.

not all, marvel heroes original storylines from 60's to 80's, will be that interesting to a good movie storyline plot to make a movie out of.
