have you ever thought why when we be delivered " we cry ".

i tell you why. because in our mum's womb we feel so happy , we feel protacted from any harm, we feel insecure.so once we get out of our warm world , we cry , we cry because deep inside our souls we know that life isn't that peaceful, that we are coming to life that fulls of challanges and agony.

I'd say its because we're giving a sharp slap moments after we're born.

Nice imagery tho .

not all babies cry, but you are right it is a shock to the baby and can be very stressful for them.

Although there is evidence a baby can become rather stressed inside the womb also.

We cry because we go from really warm to pretty darn cold. Also, it's believed that it helps get oxygen into our lungs and is an involuntary reaction for survival.

I dont think they slap babies anymore unless they are unresponsive. Even then I think they are rubbed vigorously instead. Both mine came out screaming. I'd hate having my mouth and nose suctioned too, somethinig they Do do the the poor lil babes. I know its necessary but being born must really suck.

It's gotta be a shock to the system, to our nerves, to everything, to go from warm and fuzzy to having every single nerve-ending on your skin being assaulted by air and temperature. Maybe it actually hurts to have all those nerve-endings turned on at once.

I often wonder why humans seem to be the only species that goes thru absolute hell -- giving birth , compared to other species. Do other creatures scream for hours?

My friend told me when his daughter was born, he watched, and when she came out all he wanted to sing was "Welcome to the Jungle!!!! we got fun and games...!!!!

I still laugh at the image of a baby being born, and that song coming on real loud on the intercom. (it would make a funny commercial--for something... beer?)
