getting Lap Top set up

Ihave a regulare desk top computer at home so i went an
bought a lap top so how do i get the lap top online like my home computer is ? in other words how do i get the lap Top hooked onto the same internet i have in the house ?

You have a white internet cord that hooks up to your desktop computer(it blinks if your desktop computer is on)this cord goes into the wall outlet. Basically you get another white cord aka internet cable from radio shack or walmart.Plug that into the wall socket(doesn't matter which end) and plug other end into laptop. Setup the internet on the computer and your done.

OR you could just go to best buy/circuit city and ask them, they should be able to set it up for you

It depends what connection you use. Do you have wifi or a wired connection?

if you have wifi you will need a wireless card i should go in you expansion slot or usb or you could have one built in so all you have to do is go to control panel and click on network and sharing centre and click on connect to a network and you should be able to do it from there or is you are using a wired connection you will need to plug an Ethernet cable in to the slot on the side or back of the laptop and it will connect by its self
