" The California Senate voted yesterday to allow homosexuals to marry, becoming the first legislative body in the United States to embrace the idea and setting off a scramble for three votes in the Assembly needed for full passage."

Wow! I suppose thats cool. Thing is, I dont really know why gay people would want to be married. Its a religious thing and doesnt the Bible say thou shalt not marry unless ye be of heterosexual persuasion?

It's all about freedom to do whatever the hell you want to. The Bible is obsolete in so many ways that even a priest can't live by it entirely. Why should the 11th commandment "thou shalt not marry unless ye be of heterosexual persuasion" be any different?

Yeah I agree. I dont think they should have to live out thier lives not knowing what it feels like to have kids. Its everyone's right to know what it feels like to have a child of your own.

I think gay people should have the same rites as everyone else, I don't see why they should be treated any differently.

it's fine if they marry but I don't think they should be able to adopt either.

i dont think they should be allowed to adopt just simply because its not in the best interest of the child. think of how theyd be teased when they got older in school

But surely we should try to dispell these attitudes instead of depriving a couple of a child?

i dont think so. kids are vulnerable when theyre young, and putting them in that situation is only opening them up for humiliation

People dont choose to be gay, so its not their fault. (In fact its not a fault at all). I think they should have the same rights as everyone else.

I use to be against gay marriage..I will admit that. But who am too say they can't marry? I think it's all about freedom and having the same rights as other citizens of this country. I believe that there is nothing wrong with it..I'm not saying I support Them being gay, but that's who they are and they should be able to have a life like everyone else.
