i have a pure bred birman that is 1 1/2 years old and her whole life she loved sugary things. she likes all human food actually, but once i bought a king sized hershey chocolate bar, left it on the table, came back home to find that she had licked half of it away!
its adorable because whenever i eat chocolate or lucky charms or anything full of sugar, she will come up to me and do the "sniffing" gesture and just stare at me waiting for food. my immediate family has a total of 7 cats (3 living at my dad's, 4 living at my mom's) and none of them but my cat care about eating sugary stuff. can your cat taste sweetness?

P.S. she also looooves cheez-its!

interesting......maybe cats also have an occasional taste for wheats too? because if you leave bread sitting on the counter my cat will tear through the wrapper and eat it...

Chocolate can be deadly for dogs; I believe for cats as well.

My kitty's are picky eaters. They really turn their nose up at everything except their dry cat food, which they both LOVE.

Nikki will, however, every now and then, come over to my hubby's bowl when he eats ice cream and have a few licks; but just a few. Strawberry seems to be her favorite.

sounds scary....but honestly I have trouble believing this because my cat has never had any of these problems and has been checked by a vet, found to be perfectly healthy. *shrug*

Don't say you were't warned.

Your cat really has just been very lucky thus far.
