Consciousness is an ability
Consciousness is the ability to experience.
Experiencing is what consciousness does.
My mind creates that which I experience.
I am NOT that which I experience
I am NOT my mind.
I exist.
MY existence may or may not be physical.

With the consciousness state is the ability to experience.
E: I believe we are saying the same thing. Consciousness is a state of being.
(ie., The state of being able to experience)
J: From experience I learn
E: that is how I understand it. Tabula Rasa
E: However there is (as I understand it) some thing innate analogous to the 0,1(s) on a hard drive. The 0,1(s) of sensory reception and the innate 0,1(s) are combined in a part of the brain analogues to a CPU and the product of the combination is presented to consciousness as my reality. That which I experience as reality was created in my mind.
J: I learn sensation and emotion... and choice.
E: That is how I understand it. Decisions based on perception, actions (trial and error) lead to belief (what we know)
J: I am what I have learnt... experienced
E: I have been thinking of the ‘I AM’ as consciousness. . Consciousness is the experiencer not that which is experienced.
E: Kind of like a Cartesian Dualism. |
