Like a lot of us, we're REALLY feeling the pinch on the money front. What would you do to stretch your budget? I'm going to start knitting all our clothing (including our knickers), finding recipes that involve mud, because at the minute that's all that's growing in our garden, and building a bike that holds 4 people and a very small dog.

Useful things, children. My son is at the soap-dodger age so if I use him as a mop he'll have to wash his hair whether he likes it or not. Good idea. Thanks!!

I've switched over all the lightbulbs in the house to the energy efficient ones, I turn off the water when I'm brushing my teeth, shaving and soaping up in the shower, I only water my gardens when they're wilting, and I use a soaker hose to save water. I turn off appliances when I'm not in the room. The air conditioning is set to 80, and the heat to 68.

I buy bulk at the market, and eat a lot more rice and beans and a lot less meat. I brown bag my lunches, and bring my own coffee. I plan my trips to cut down on mileage and gas.

I've even started drinking average quality bourbon!

As long as none of the previous idiots are still in residence. Could drive you nuts, otherwise.

You're an extremely sensible man, boxer (even taking into consideration the average quality bourbon).

I prefer "Cheap Bastard".. At this rate I'll be able to retire about 15 minutes before I drop dead.

The car costs us more than anything, bloody thing. Actually, there are several bikes in the garage, all in different states of repair. Ollie takes them apart and puts them together again, so I'm just going to weld the whole lot together.
