Well would you? As atheists would you not be happier if religion were totally done away with? It would mean no more street preachers or religious people inposing their veiws on you. It would also mean people would no longer get help from certain charities that are funded by various religions. Also faith schools would have to close but those are small prices to pay isnt it for freedom from from religious tyranny surely? Who will be honest and admit they want an end to all religion?

no not at all as they do have a positive effect on some peoples lives..i think it is an individuals own choice and that should not be taken away.

No, I wouldn't. Everyone is free to believe what they want. Also, I don't see how you could ban religion in a way that wouldn't be tyranny!

After much thought. No I wouldn't be happy. Religion doesn't affect me, mind you it's aggravating, but it doesn't personally affect me. Now, my friends on the other hand, they'd be taking their problems to me instead of packing them to the lord and s***, and no one needs that right?

So, no, let religion keep on keeping on..

I would have no desire to end religion. We all make our choices and follow our own beliefs. I would never want to dictate to another person how to live or what to believe in, which is kinda what pisses me off about religious fanatics. Live and let live and all that!

Just to add.. we all have our crutch in life, for some it's drink, for other's it's drug's, it might be family and friends and/or religion.

No, I wouldn't like to see it gone, religion has been and will be a source of great comfort for many many people, just because I chose not to partake doesn't mean it shouldn't exist.

I don't want to end religion. I just want to keep it private. Do it at home. No public worshiping areas.

I would be thrilled if it died of senescence! However not if it was destroyed from without,by persons seeking to put an end to religious freedom! I then would have to switch sides and defend it! As repugnant as that seems to me!

I wouldn't want to stand in the way of anyone's faith, it's what gets many through the day. I don't think anyone should be able to preach their beliefs on the street though nor do I think doorstep converters should be allowed. Each to their own.

Like everyone else on this thread, no. I don't believe in God personally but that doesn't mean it should be banned to fit into my belief structure.

I also find religion fascinating, particularly the traditions and ceremonies.

Indeed if religion prevents its adherents from robing, stealing, killing and raping, I would be very happy, but regretably it does not!

8) Ain't ever going to happen, IMO, and that's not a bad thing. Any influence for the betterment of humanity is to be praised as such, whatever it involves. The fact that some proponents overdo it is the price we pay for the freedom to do as WE wish.

I think my obsession and feeling of belonging with Aberdeen FC is in a way religious. Football teams to me are replacing in people what religion used to give them.

I'm just one evolutionary step further on than the religious... Don't worry, they wont be offended, they don't believe in evolution

No I would not ban religion; and a ban would increase religion not decrease it; and a ban would disrupt many ecconomies that depend on it; and a ban would be uninforceable. At one time Atheism was banned. Atheists were burned at the stake. Ahh, the smell of BBQ atheist in the air ....Mmmmm. Where was I.... Oh, banning atheism. Banning Atheism did not work and neither would banning theism. Although I would consider a ban on door to door Bible thumpers; wouldn't burn um at the stake though.
