Do your best to not fall in love with someone you cannot have. I realised that some things are impossible.

I'm somebody that has! Never thought in a million years it would happen this way. We met through a forum similar to this one, with no intention of striking up a relationship however, we are both glad it's happened and are both very happy.

In hindsight, I don't see it being different to the days of having pen-pals, before computers came along. You can learn such a lot more from a person through MSN'ing/Yahoo Messaging etc. (providing you're honest with one another, of course.)

When we finally met, after 5 months, we were both very nervous, but after the initial nervousness it was like we'd known each other for years.

I know of a number of online relationships that have worked and are still going strong.

Yes, it does seem to be easy. However, I do stress that you should always be truthful about yourself, and hope that the other person is too.

ive had it happen a couple of times actually. and yes you should always be truthful about yourself. why fake who you are on here and then IF you guys do meet up, they will see you were a fake and ruin any kinda trust you had earned or could have gained. plus, what is the point of faking who you are or what you are? never have understood that one!?

Very true. However, some people like to portray themselves on how they wish to be, instead of what they're really like....if that makes sense.
