Fish guts! If you people never tried burying fish guts around your favorite plants, do so. My maw planted some by her columbines, and there's like 80 blooms on the thing.

It's like a plant steroid.

I use fish, blood and bone meal mix on the plants they seem to thrive on it, I lost a lot of tree's over the hard winter we have just had but that helped to pick up the ones that survived.
