Thought I'd start a thread to find out what bets people may be making. I've put a few on over the course and thought it would be interesting to consolidate them.

I put on Holland to win the whole thing at 14-1 at the start of the competition.

Today I put on a Portugal/North Korea double, 8-1 for North Korea 2-1 for Portugal so 16-1 over all.

Also got a couple of pounds on Switzerland - Honduras to finish 0-0 at 8-1.

Well completely wrong on the first bet

Second one is looking alright I suppose, half time and 0-0.

When I was a student, I couldn't afford to gamble. Jeezus... when I was a student, there were times when I couldn't afford to eat...!!!

Students have got it easy these days.

I can afford to gamble because I'm good at it. In fact I can't afford not to gamble.

Also I had no money for ages but have a full time job over the summer so it's the one time I actually have money

Villa scoring first sounds like a good punt, but the 3 - 1 element is what boosts the odds, methinks. Just imaging how much you're gonna sweat if Villa does score first, and it's 3 - 1 at half time.

Be sitting there as the only person who doesn't want any goals.

It's a bit of a long shot but I prefer long shots, more interesting.

I know nothing about soccer except you can't touch the ball with your hands, the score is always low and you must kick the ball in the net.

I have not watch more than 10 minutes of soccer in my life. This has not stopped me from betting real monies on Brazil.

I should go look and see how they are doing.

You've pretty much summed up the whole game from start to finish, Dave.

Thanks, it's only 20$ but there are three of us so I get 60$ if I win!

I forgot, there are red cards and yellow cards. I wish it had fighting like hockey does.
