Okay, I have been surfing around for some job openings and the only two so far are for Books-A-Million and a florist shop. My sister suggested to me for whatever reason that I should take the florist spot. Does this sound like a good idea?

Depends if you want to work as a florist

Do you want to do it for a long term career option?

Have you been offered the jobs, or just seen them advertised?

I don't know what your CV is, but if you want/need a job i'd apply to both and if they both want you go where you felt most comfortable on interview/which you find more interesting.

No not a long term career, just something temporary just to keep food on the table.

If it is just anything at all, apply for antything that you can do. So many are looking for work that now is not the time to snub anything.

I often hear people crying that they have no money for groceries etc but they refuse to work for minimum wage. Sure it's not a lot but my God, better than nothing at all and just colpmalining.

Good luck and all the best

My mother is a trained florist, trained in the 1960's but even now a lot of the same skills are used.

Its a good skill to have. Mum would be able to make extra money at christmas and easter and stuff doing table decorations and wreaths when she had us home as kids.

Its a lot of standing up in cold rooms and getting up early.
