This is a review from a Scientific America article. The Article is from the 1950's, but the review is modern. Please, read it all:

The Matriarchal Theory Revisited

Although the time frame referred to in the accompanying picture is clearly discredited, the theory itself has not been. It is possible that this process in human evolution is taking place but just at a much slower rate. Obviously the time frame between 1960-2060 is too short an evolutionary expanse to radically effect the average general size differential between men and women, only several generations pass in 100 years; although we might very well see this trend in the next 1000-10,000 years. Also the highly evolved male figure in the picture for some reason has a large head; there is no reason to think that if such a transformation were to take place over evolution (reduction of the male / ascension of the female) that the males head would remain large. It certainly wouldn?t need to remain large while the rest of the body is smaller since scientists know that the human only uses about 10% of the brain tissue in the skull. This highly evolved male is more likely to resemble the appearance of the scale reduced male in the a typical internet GTS pict (e.g. GTS picts where the male figure is reduced to about half it?s size using a photo-editing program like Photoshop, which gives the pict a scaled reduction, and then pasted aside a female. The Matriarchal Theory?s most significant variable is the extent to which the female will eventually outsize her male counterpart. Does the male reduce to about have her size and the evolutionary process stabilizes, or does the process go further?

Basically what Zonian is saying is that the human specie evolved from a history of physical endurance. The human and her ?neoandrotholic? predecessors were always challenged by difficult conditions which made survival difficult. All human beings 7000 years ago were tribal boobys. Life was difficult and the men had to burden the immense physical burden so the females could stay under tent and reproduce. The first major behavioral change took place about 5000 years ago with the development of civilization; all earthly predecessors had been tribal. In the civilized world life continued to be physically challenging for the male as the majority of the population remained rural and city life tended to also be physically challenging. Women continued to be assigned the softer tasks of childbearing and homemaking, and their average birthrates remained high, so most women were physically bogged down with constant pregnancies. The next major shift is just recently starting in the post WWII era as life becomes more ?sedentary? in the developed world, and more of the Earths population lives in a developed society where women have equality and life is less physically challenging; and/or the men and women?s physical behavior is similar (they generally both work, some of them exercise for leisure or have physically challenging professions; and the birthrates decline significantly. It is at this point where the male no longer needs to be big and strong and the female has all the more reason to be larger and beautiful to attract the smaller males (according to the theory). If it is true that this trend is taking place then the fascination with GTS and female domination is a natural precursor to the future.

When examining this theory future trends should be taken into consideration. In the opinion of this author, more of the Earth?s population will continue to live under developed conditions and the Earth?s population will continue to increase. The UN predicts that eventually the Earth?s population will stabilize as societies continue to develop. Another trend in the next several thousand years will be the gradual expanse of the polar regions as the next ice-age descends. This will mean that the populations living in some of the northern regions will have to relocate southward as the area becomes frozen. At the same time new inhabitable land will emerge from the oceans and seas as the glaciers sponge up more and more of the Earths water; this will cause ocean levels to drop significantly. I.E. the Philippines will become one large island, the Gulf of Thailand will disappear and the Gulf of Mexico will become much smaller. The middle-east will no longer be dry and arid as changing wind and moisture currents cause it to become greener. All of these trends will be gradual and there is no reason to think that the human specie will face extinction or some great calamity that will adversely effect it?s continued development in the next 10,000 years. In other words human life-styles will continue to be ?sedentary? for the long-term foreseeable future.

And the Jow Theory (read also the Jow Theory)..

How does the Matriarchal relate to the Jow Theory? In the Matriarchal Theory there is no mortal supreme being or different types of females yet all the females eventually ascend to a superior physical status as part of a natural evolution. So in a Jow world the female always dominates as far as the intelligent specie is concerned whereas on Earth the women eventually ?physically surpasses men and so assume their rightful role as the dominant gender in our species? according to the Matriarchal Theory. Most importantly the Matriarchal Theory deals only with human life on Earth where the Jow Theory attempts to predict what life is like on other planets.

Or Possibly the Two Theories Coexist..

Let's say that this evolution Dr. Zonian talks about does start to take place over the next 1000 years (or longer). The women will gradually become larger than the men; at first they will (on the average) become the same height and eventually they will become taller; the men will be physically smaller and the women stronger. At some point during this evolution the male and female's will develop two distinctly different frames as the female begins to greatly outsize the male; the larger A frame for the female and the smaller B frame for the male. Now lets assume that some of these females start to be birthed with the smaller B frame, and these females would be unable to bear children because they are too small; so the females that can would bear more of them. Such a metamorphoses is in the realm of possibilities - and this would be called the Matriarchal-Jow Theory. The theory that Earth is actually a Jow planet in the making. Although I think this is a more unlikely scenario and it's more probably we will see the standard reversal with the female slowly averaging a larger stature as the centuries pass.
