She witnessed her former partner murder two people, though didn't take part in the murders, eighteen years ago. Once this emerged the producers of the hit ITV show dropped her from the billing.

Just me or is that completely wrong that that has happened?

If she wasn't charged with anything, that is wrong. I assume they have a moralities clause?

I only ask because sometimes they throw that in contracts in stuff like this, but honestly if she wasn't prosecuted, then the prosecutors obviously think she did no wrong. That should not follow her around 18 years later.

That should be punishable by hanging!

Too right. People forget that there is an 'e' at the end scone NOT scon.
Of all the ignorance!

It is supposed to rhyme with 'Gone'. Making it rhyme with 'cone' sounds ridiculously posh. We invented them, we called them scones, to rhyme with gones and so should you.

But making it rhyme with gone sounds posh to me. Gone is an adjective. Scone is a noun and all the nouns I can think of at the moment that end in the same three letters, such as bone, cone, and phone are not pronounced to rhyme with gone, so to me it makes sense to rhyme it with cone.

It's a Scots word though, that's how the Scots language works. Scone to rhyme with cone definitely sounds posher.

I'll have a scown and cream please la de da de da.

Much better to say 'I'll hae a tattie scone min'

That's fine if you're using Scots dialect for the whole sentence, but not in an English sentence being spoken by an English person. It seems pretentious to me for English people to attempt to pronounce things in their native manner. Like when football commentators insist on saying "Barthelona".
