I prefer Vista, by a decent margin.

But I much prefer 7 to either.

I have XP on one and Vista on the other...both are fine for me...I think XP's a bit better...but Vista does the job...

So MEH!

My true geeks would be like "WINDOWS.EWWW.LINUX IS THE s***."

XP by far. Vista is to XP as Windows ME was to 98. A rush to get the latest and greatest OS launched without getting out all the bugs and glitches before the "Gold" version was actually completed.

Shame on you Microsoft.

Linux is an inferior desktop OS to Windows 7.

Linux is good at some things. Very, very good. My server runs Linux.

It's just not as good a desktop OS as Windows, though. It's got more geek cred and all that, but that's just posturing and ego-stroking. I use what works best.

Bulls***. Vista is remarkably stable and bug-free, and was from the beginning.

Virtually all of Vista's problems are the direct fault of the lazy a** hardware and software manufacturers who dragged their butts getting driver and application support for Vista up to snuff.

It is time to move on. Like it or not, the best software and equipment will leave XP in the dust. It wont handle the new VS array of suits with the coming vector graphics to robotics flow. That is going to take computing to a whole new level those like poor jonnie can't comprehend.

Hell yeah I prefer XP. Vista died the first month it came out. Why do you think they're making Windows 7 all of a sudden? Vista was a failure.

Vista got a bad rap from the beginning. The only problem with Vista is public perception.

Before I had Vista I heard so many bad things about it that I really didn't want it. Now I have it, I don't have a preferance and don't see what everyone was talking about

I heard a lot of crap about Vista, but when my old laptop died and I was forced to buy a new one, I had no choice. I considered down-grading to XP, but opted to stick with Vista since it came on the computer. Honestly? I like it. I can't say I necessarily prefer it to XP and it took a little getting used to after using XP for so many years, but I like it.

I suppose its just getting used to something new. When XP came out, I dodn't like it. (I was used to Windows 95).
I like Vista, but I'm used to XP now.
So I'll have to have Vista when I get my new computer. Its not better or worse, just different.

Depends on a computers specs. Anything under 1GB of RAM and anything under a 2.5GHz processor, as well as anything that doesn't support Aero, I would say XP, otherwise Vista would be fine.

So you think Vista wouldn't do well on a 2 GHz Core 2 Duo? How about a 2 GHz Athlon X2?
