Did you delete McAfee and comodo using their uninstallers or Add/Remove progs? Either way, have you tried running regedit and deleting all references to Macfee and comodo and all their sub-progs? I find that sometimes that is the only way to kill them off completely and allow you to successfully install another Anti-virus prog. No doubt you have already deleted all entries to those progs in your Programs folder AND in your Docs and Settings folders? If not, do so.
Failing that, a prog called Tune-Up Utilities might help. It has a One Click Maintenance facility that detects and allows you to delete broken links and empty objects etc in the registry and in your programs folders.
