In my opinion there is not much difference between each side. Yet there is so much hate between the sides and to be perfectly honest I really don't want to vote for any. Now in Australia the Liberal party is really the Labor party and the Liberal party/Nationals (coalition) are the conservatives.

In fact I vote for all minor parties and independents first before I vote for one of the major parties. (yes even family first)

So tell me what reason do I have for voting for one of the major parties? What ever country they may be in.

I've never been one to vote based on party affiliation. I tend to vote on how they stand with the issues. Of course, I don't trust any politicians, so it's hard to tell if they mean what they say or if they're just blowing smoke.

Obviously, if I voted for them and they didn't keep their campaign promises, I won't be voting for them next time.

Newsflash: You don't have to be Republican to be greedy and selfish (and not all of them are).

You are right, not to be Republican can be greedy and selfish.
But what the Republic party do is greedy and selfish, although some member are not!

And vice versa. People are not always ruled by their party affiliation. And I agree with Saegespaene...this isn't your election.

When there are some economic recovery plan and something like that, only one to two Republican will change their vote and negotiate with the government!

Other Republicans, just to sit here and watch movie.

All I wanna say is that they don't really care about us!

You would probably tip the scales if you were to be checked for fecal weight.

Voting conservative makes sense if the status quo is leaving you rich, voting liberal makes sense if the restriction of personal liberties is preventing you (or occasionally others) from prospering.

I'd probably not vote if I were American as both parties seem as useless as the other tbh.

That's why a great deal of us vote for candidates, not parties. There are quite a few politicians that "prefer" a party, but they'll cross the party lines on certain issues.
