I love Religious painting from the middle ages - altar pieces for instance. I also absolutely love a vase painter called the Berlin painter (c.480BC), vases mainly black, with a solitary figure beautifully painted.

I think paintings should convey a sense of mystery.Landscapes,portraits
and seascapes can do this,my favorites are always rather mysterious.

in my 20's to 50's, on and off my day offs from work. my mom took me in early life in my 20's, to st. louis art museum to see paintings and scultures to board my culture background. I appreciate different types of painter's arts, not one particular artist. it also depends how the painting move me. over the years, there have been movies and tv mini-series, tell the artist's biliography is more interesting than his or her work to me than their works.
