My first venture overseas was a school exchange with a French Student. My school ran a programme with a school in France where we made contact with other students. In 1998, Amelie (my French friend) came to stay with us for a couple of weeks during the school summer holiday, and then I went back with her and stayed in St Malo with her family.

It was a brilliant cultural / language exchange and I fell in love with France and the French straight away. I've been back to France numerous times now and love the whole country so much. It is, without doubt, the place in the world I would choose to live if I could no longer live here.

My parents are going to Barbados in a couple of weeks.

My brother plans to get married in the Caribbean and I've said that I will make the most of it and do as much as I can while I'm there and make it as luxury as possible.

Barbados is lovely.. Martinique is my favorite, but it's complete hell to get there.. Which is probably why it's so pristine and quiet and friendly and amazing.
