Which Transmission would you prefer? Not based off of what you think would be better for everyone, but which would be best for you. For me I drive an automatic, but I'm thinking of switching to a Manual Transmission car. I think they are more fun in my opinion. I don't know, that just my thought process. So which would you prefer?

I prefer a manual but the car we have now is an automatic. I still struggle to remember to put it in park and I keep reaching for the shifter. Fortunately, I have not been stomping on the brake (accidentally) while pushing in the imaginary clutch but my right hand still feels like it needs to be doing something...

ETA: I also think a manual is more fun.

I've only ever driven a automatic, but we have talked about out next vehicle being a manual.

I'm a quick learner, so I shouldn't have any trouble.

I had a hard time learning from my dad or my husband. I was still a teenager but it's something about the relationship, I think. My father-in-law (former driving instructor) successfully taught me the basics but then I just got to drive across the town that we worked in for practice. It's so much easier when you don't have someone more experienced sitting in the passenger seat.

I'm a quick learner too. Sometimes I imagine my car is a stick shift when I'm driving places.

I pretend I'm in a race car.

Do you actually go through the motions?

I'm eager to actually learn and hopefully get one one within the 6-12 months. It's going to take time I know that for sure.

Daily driver needs to be an auto. Hard to eat a burger while driving in a manual.

Manual transmission is for sport/fun/offroad. My motorcycle's transmission is manual (obviously) and that's enough on-road fun for me.

I can't help it. I feel like if I get a car with a manual transmission that I would have more of a rush.

Not if you're talented enough.

I wonder if it makes a huge difference for where you're driving. I've never lived in a city so I've usually had to drive a windy highway road full of idiots and tourists to pass. I could see how driving a manual would be annoying in constant stop-and-go traffic.
