In the films which actor do you prefer for Dumbledore, Richard Harris or Michael Gambon.

I prefer Richard Harris, I think he looks more like my image of him.

I honestly couldn't tell the difference. I thought they did an amazing job of making the latter look like the first.

The more times I watch the films the more I notice it (as I would) and it bugs me.

You should see them again then, and read the books.

I read all the books too. I'm just not into seeing movies again, though - it's not just Harry Potter, it's any movie. I always enjoy the anticipation of not knowing what will happen next in the plot, and, to me, knowing it already greatly diminishes the enjoyment. Maybe that's also why I like thrillers as a genre more than any others. The only exception was the Lord of the Rings, but that was just to see the extended versions, as they really added quite a bit to those.

Ah, I can understand that, there aren't many films that I could watch over and over really.

I preferred Gambon, mainly because of the voice. And he seemed a little more spry, I couldn't imagine Richard Harris fighting Voldemort.

Neither/both?

I think they both portray the characters needed in the story line well. Harris is much softer in his acting but his voice is perfect, it's that slow yet rough rumble to it. Gambon is great acting wise, a little harsh, a little mean, but the Dumbledor in the end of the book was just that.

So really, both, I think I like Gambon more than Harris but I can take both.

I never really noticed that there was 2 Albus Dumbledores. They both kinda seemed the same to me. But I have all 8 movies so maybe I'll watch them again and decide.
I have this thing about re-watching movies like that. Some movies just seem awesome even if I've already seen them 10x.

You know, after that unnecessary scream in the fourth movie I have to go for Richard Harris. He had what I'd imagined Dumblerdore's demeanor to be: calm, understanding, quiet.

Screaming, "DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIRE, HARRY!" didn't make Dumbledore for me.
