Quite possibly, although, like myself, they would have no way of proving their ability. Then again, if I could find enough gullible people with faith in me, perhaps I too would become a perpetually lying preacher and form a religion like Christianity or Islam with their perpetually lying clergy.

Given the number of cultists who came to rise between the sixties and eighties that was an easy achievement in areas where the population didn't have much exposure to new ideas or were held Babylonian Captive by one dominating organized religion.
Were the Christian church ever to drop out of NZ we wouldn't be too far away from Wickermen and Wooden Elephants over here.
